Day 8-Seloleman
Today we left Yogya at 8am. It is other long travel day to Seloleman but today especially the views are beautiful. We passed lots of rice terraces, sugar cane plantations and some local markets. My group was very suprised when we saw the people riding the motor bike with 3 or 4 people on the back. Some of my group asking about it as I know it is not allowed in western countries ( well even here too!) but still so many people do that!
At about 4pm we arrived at Mojokerto bus station then we jumped to mini van which was took about 1.5 hours to get to Seloleman. All my group was so impressed with this place, it is in a real deep village and very quiet. As were driving so many times my group asked "Maman....where you take us?!" I just smiled and I said " Welcome to the bush!" or sometimes they asked "How did Intrepid found this place?!"
Anyway, Seloleman is an NGO and they care about environment and that is why we call this place the 'Environmental Education Center.' Every weekend there are always some students coming to this place to learn about the natural world. The view here is so stunning with the Penanggungan and Arjuna Mountain view. And the rice terrace view....so beautiful. This place just perfect after Yogya city and being in the village, its so peaceful.
At 7pm we had dinner which is all organic food or what we call 'Eco Food'. This place really suits vegetarians. At about 7.30pm we went to watch a film about wild Indonesia, about the animals we have here including orang hutan. .The is was off to have a rest and get ready for the walk around the rice field and the village. One of my group members is very intested in climbomh the Penanggungan Mountain. See you tomorrow....
