After 3 nights we stayed in my home town Pangandaran, everyone was so happy to be in Pangandaran and they had great time. This morning after we had breakfast we left at 10am for Yogyakarta. It is another long day but not as long as like the one we did from Jakarta to my home town. We made it to Yogya at 4pm,we passed the beautiful country side and sugar cane plantations and also rice fields . Yogya is the big city but it is different with the other cities. We still can feel the people are very friendly and their are still many houses that are very traditional. Yogyakarta we call special province which in Indo we have only 2 special provinces which the other is in Sumatra ( Aceh) Why is Yogya is special province? Because even though it is in Indonesia, Yogya has their own leader. They have a Sultan who still has the power and still can access till now. He has 100s of people working for the Sultan and also the Sultan palace its so big!
Yogya is also very famous with the food call Gudeg, which is made from young jack fruit and mixed with coconut mil. The nick name of yogya is "student city" as one of best university is here. Very famous with art paintings and also the Batik. The most famous is the Batik painting and the silversmith.
This place is just perfect for someone who is loving to go crazy shopping. but you know, this place is very famous not because of the sultan palace, silver, batik or the food, but mostly because the people come to yogya because the biggest Buddhism temple in the world is here. Borobudur temple is one of the 7th wonder in the world! It takes about 1 hour from the place where we stay now. And also there is other big Hinduism temple in Yogya but the highlight for Yogya is Borobudur Temple.
InYogya I would like to say there are more motorbikes then cars, so you better watch out every time when we cross the street as the car, they might stop when they show us crossing but motor bike.......maybe they won't stop!
After we had an Indonesian dinner, our local guide Luppa was trying to explain what they expecting to do here in Yogya, everyone would like to go to Borobudur tomorrow morning, everyone so excited to see this temple. I will see you tomorrow then!
