Day 6 (Yogya-Borobudur and Prambanan Temple)

To day we woke up very early, at about 6am, had breakfast and left for Borobudur temple. Everyone was so excited and can't wait to see the biggest Buddhist temple in the world!
We could leave for the temple actually bit later but the reason we left earlier is cos will be many people and also very very hot! We drove to the temple and we could see from the distance how big is the temple. Soon we get there & everyone was so impress with this temple...

First question: How did they build this temple in the 9th century?! It  is a really big temple and it contains about 500 Buddha effigies! All made from the volcano rock! We had a local guide here essecially for just the Borobudur temple, and he explained the story and everything about the temple. Everyone really enjoy being here especially as the view from the top of Borobudur is stunning too! Around 9am the temple started to get really  with lots of visitors coming amd also there were some students doing a study tour.

There was funny thing that happened with my group, some of them get "attacked" by students as they would like to try and learn their English but I think also some of them they just wanted to have their picture with "white" people, as you know, Indonesian love to be white skinned and Westerns just love to be brown.... That is life anyway!

It is fun to have the local interactive here, have some chats and get some picture with Indonesian student or family. We spent about 2-3 hours in the temple and more & more people visited this temple and it is also very hot. So we went back to hotel and some of them went to Maliaboro street where the shopping center is and some of them went to silver smith home industry.
