Day 7-Yogya City Tour

To day is not a really busy day for us. We will relax and do the tour which is also very easy.

At 9am we started this the  city tour around Yogya. There are some optional choices for transport to see around the city: by Becak (rickshaw ), push bike or car. It is actually fun by bike or becak, but most of my group just worry about the traffic here so they decide to take by car!

We head to Sultan palace first, to see how the palace look like. It was nice to see around the palace and we could see most of this building was built a long time ago. There was an old orchestra which they used only when there is special ceremonial in the palace. We saw also the painting of the other Sultan of a long time ago as the Sultan now is number 10th.

Also we went to the water palace (although  they don't really use now ) but still very nice and clean. A long time ago normally this water palace was used for the Sultan family when they would like to relax. Then after we went to local traditional market where we could buy every thing with really cheap prices and also we went back again to Maliaboro street where the shopping central and so many thing we could find here for gift for our friend or family but we should be good bargainer as they will put with what we call " tourist price!!" For them we had lunch!

In the evening, some of my group went to the show call 'Ramayana Ballet.' The ballet here not like the ballet in Western country - I would like to say this is just traditional dance with the story.

Ramayana story is originally a Hindu story from India. It is talking about a love story, maybe like Romeo and Juliet story but it is happy ending! The costume they wear is very traditional Javanese costume and all the dance is the story. Very impressive!

Esrly night needed and I just hope they will be ready for tomorrow as it is will be long travel day to Seloleman. I am so happy to see all my group as they seem they enjoy every thing we did here in Yogya. Guy's......be ready for tomorrow, dont be late!
